Honestly, that is a loaded question. Wix is a free solution for developing your website.

Well, sort of “free.” Here is my free that site I set up: http://erica7011.wix.com/simonsstudios

Take a look at that URL – that’s not a professional URL at all, and I wasn’t given the option of choosing an URL or anything when I first set up my site; I was assigned “erica7011” for the subdomain. And you gotta love the little Wix ad in the top right.  And while you’re at it, click on “my” facebook button at the top of the page.  That does not lead to my facebook page.

Right now, I am trying to see what options I have for my Wix account since I was told how much easier it is to use over a WordPress site. I wanted to make sure I hadn’t forgot to set that link and look into adding e-commerce capabilities to my site. But I cannot do that; check out my new problem:

I am no stranger to web site problems. I troubleshoot web problems all day long. Change your password? Now THAT’S a solution. So I headed over there to do that. “Forgot Password” — YES.

I get the link to change my password, I then go in to edit it again. Guess what happens next.

No, really guess…

This is what I got:

That’s familiar. That’s what is called “easy?” I have contacted their support folks.  Once I hear back from those lovely people, I’ll continue my testing and let you know what happens.
